Nobility of Âdocôris

Athril stood in the throne room of the Crown Palace next to his father as he held the weekly audience for his underlings. Behind him, a beautifully designed family tree adorned the walls and ceiling. Each visitor admired the tree, which displayed images from many generations. However, this legacy weighed like a huge boulder on Athril's shoulders and he felt like he was being watched by his ancestors. He knew they were just pictures. But he often struggled with the feeling that they were just waiting for him to make a mistake, even though they were already in the realm of the dead. Athril looked out the window and glanced wistfully at the statue of Vinduk I that stood in front of the palace. How could he later follow in the footsteps of such big names in his family?

The three large noble houses of the Meadow goblins of Âdocôris emerged in the first 500 years after the council was founded and are divided into the Principality of Mushroomy Western Meadows, the Grand Duchy of Flowery Southern Meadows and the Duchy of Lush Eastern Meadows. In 919 AEC, Vinduk I was the first great king to unite the tribes of the meadow goblins.

Over the next 200 years, the kingship alternated between the three noble houses, but since the war against Taen Wôtris broke out around 1,100 AEC and Âdocôris emerged victorious, the title of Great King of Âdocôris remained primarily with the Prince of Mushroomy Western Meadows.

Since the 11th century AEC, this title has included sovereignty over all of Brictaelgis and representation of the Earth continent in the Council of Elements.

The family tree

The family tree that adorns the throne room of the Crown Palace of Tirvox ad Coimi was designed by Brindi Stoneling and shows, in addition to the main line of the Princes of Mushroom West Meadows, some representatives and secondary lines of the Grand Duchy of Flowery South Meadows, the Duchy of Lush East Meadows and other Brictaelgian noble houses with which a narrow marriage policy is maintained. The family tree contains elaborately painted coats of arms of the most important alliances, designed by the artist Eirik Moonroot, which are not used in public because of their ornateness. The designs of the three main coats of arms can also be found in the stained glass of the palace's windows.

Starting from Brill III and Ursina IV, the tree trunk winds with several branches up to the ceiling and branches out itself up to the 8th currently ruling generation under Tillard II and Fenella I and their four children of the 9th generation. Atrox, the bearded one, laid the foundation for the family history, which is over two thousand years old, when he was elevated to the status of count by Ggildes, the simpleton one in 391 AEC. The following generations were loyal to the first clan leader of Âdocôris and gradually took higher positions at court.
In the mid-6th century, Ursina the Seer became the wife of King Clemgid, the Mushroom Friend, after her first husband died. Her son Trind, the Wise, was adopted by the king and later appointed 1st Prince of Mushroom West Meadows. After the king's death, he inherited the entire kingdom of the meadow goblins, which after his death was divided among his three children into the three meadow kingdoms of West, East and South, which still exist today.
In 919 AEC, Vinduk I became the first great king and united the three meadow kingdoms under the flag of Âdocôris for the first time, although the three âdocôrian noble houses remained. Other great ancestors who followed Vinduk I on the throne were Trind IX, died 1,123 AEC and his son Brill I, Elgista III. at 1,356 AEC, Tâmid the Great at 1,789 AEC and Athril II, who was crowned at 2,005 AEC.

Wow! The artwork in the portraits is fantastic! Great article.

Thank you very much for the compliment - the composition and the background are mine, but the portraits etc. are unfortunately AI-generated. Nevertheless, it took a very long time to put everything together like this.

It’s really spectacular; probably my favorite family tree I’ve seen.

Bekommst ein riesen Like :)

This family tree is just sick. And gorgeous. So are the coat of arms. The only thing I don't understand are the symbols under the portraits. The green star is for family members who became Druids, so far so good. But what about the red flowers and the crowns? Crowns are rulers and outlined crowns are ... what?

Oct 28, 2024 16:12

Thank you very much, I am really pleased :).   To your question: filled crowns are the kings of Âdocôris (correctly identified), outlined crowns are kings or princes/dukes of other Brictaelgian realms or principalities, flowers are princes/princesses etc. without any other major role. Maybe I should add a legend for better understanding.

That would be really appreciated ☺️
