Liessteig

"It's a lovely place, but there is nothing special about it as far as I can tell."

- Lennert Singer

Liessteig grew in size thanks to the moderately tempered climate and the rather fertile soil, which made it a perfect place to settle down.

It never grew beyond a moderate size due to the rather lacking trade routes, both on water, due to the small size of the stream, and on land, due to the odd geographic positioning.

Demographics

The majority of the population are Human, with second and third place split between Dwarfs and Elves.

Defences

Defending town and keeping the piece are 25 guardsmen. There are always a couple on patrol through the town at all times and a few are stationed in or near the nobles district.

The barracks and training grounds are positioned inside of the wooden palisade protecting the keep. In addition there are ten royal guardsmen protecting the keep.

Infrastructure

All of the grain in the region gets processed by the watermill in the north-eastern part of town. When it burned down once in an accident with a candle, it was rebuild using the royal treasury due to the importance of it.

Assets

All the essential needs for a town are covered. There are a few butchers, blacksmiths, tailors, cobblers and a few other professions that are needed to keep a small town going. Naturally, most people are farming the surrounding lands.

Natural Resources

The most valuable resource that can be found in the area are the fertile lands that are being farmed. Within a days travel a forest can be found, but there is no large source of iron or stone, forcing those goods to be traded into the town.
