Birdmen

Birdmen are, like Limrods, strange animal-like creatures. They are made up of a fiery, almost wild disposition, but are always ready to be patient and wait for the right time. They live chiefly in high mountains and large forests, watching the world around them and appearing rarely. They often live in small bands and will spring upon bandits and tear them to pieces, and then ask for a small reward from the travelers they have saved. Often times, however, they will become overwhelmed with their fiery spirit and roam around like wild beasts, flying high above the chaos of the world below, or wandering on foot. When in this state, it is deadly to cross them, for, with nothing holding them back they will use their claws on both hands and feet and their beak and wings to at once stun you and quickly rip gashes in any vulnerable part of your body. Birdmen are often despised and looked at as dangerous beasts and even enemies, but the truth is. These beautiful and powerful creatures, although prone to falls, are loyal and fiercely protective of their friends and allies and would die joyfully fighting for anything they hold dear. They are by far the most powerful of Earck’s races, often wielding spears, bows and long curved swords designed for slicing at the heads of enemies as they fly over them. Birdmen, although known mainly for their ferocity and power, for the most part only fight at the most key moments. They are often the “change in the wind” and will go as quickly as they came. Few people know what Birdmen do in their spare time, some say they turn back into the birds of which they came, some say they wander about in the woods and mountains as wild as the beasts around them. However, they spend most of their time in observing and gathering information about the world around them. Often times this included military training, spying, scouting, and other such useful military actions.
