Mittivul

The Docks are full of countless dwarven, halfling, and human sailors manning countless massive and beautiful ships in the protected ports on the cliffsides of the island. The luxurious and sprawling manors of the rich and powerful dot the various summits and cliffsides, while the bustle of famous global port cities keeps the free market moving. The grand sails of the five dwarven clans of Mittwul offer many lucrative deals for those willing to advance their interest, and they are always looking for the next big opportunity.

Structure

Mittivul is ruled by the original 5 dwarven clans, each of which has a specific interest that originally defined the clan, and is usually one that is still practiced. Each Clan is formally led by its Clan Master who chooses a Clan Representative (sometimes themselves), who represents the clans interests into the Federal council meeting. Each Clan typically chooses its own organization, but most typically follow the same general structure with the Clan Master appointing Directors for its various duties and divisions.

History

The island was once populated by a variety of human and goblinoid tribes, and one of the very few true Halfling nations on the planet, Hyissail. Many centuries ago, a handful of Drievian dwarven colonies began springing up on the northern hills of the island, which integrated itself into island politics and began expanding into the territories of the island's other occupants, which led to increased aggression before a many-pronged war against the encroaching colonists. The Short and one-sided Mittivan War was highlighted by the overbearing power of the dwarven colonists and their supremacy at sea, highlighted by the last known uses of the Mariner's Bane Trident, annihilating any opposing ship in mere moments in its arcing path. In 1376 PA, the Merchant Federation of Mittivul was formally founded on the Island of Iraznin once the War had ended, which led to the fervent eradication of the majority of the goblinoids on the island, and the absorption of many human and halfling communities, leaving Hyissail as a mere vassal state in the South. Since its founding, Mittivul has grown obscenely wealthy with its ideal location for oversea trade in its incredibly safe port cities, and the leaders of its 5 clans endlessly vie for more power and wealth.
