Elven Flu
Transmission & Vectors
This elven disease is transmissible to humans. It is contagious and transmitted by physical contact, contaminated surfaces, respiratory secretions and airborne contamination. The incubation period is three to five days long and the contagion period begin two days before the symptoms and lasts a week.
Causes
This flu can generally be caught near Bælyn Mountain and Dulmìr Mountain when the weather is cold and/or humid.
Symptoms
The symptoms are fever, headache, fatigue, muscle aches, runny nose and a strong cough that can progress into serious breathing problems.
Treatment
It is treated with a concoction of elven herbs whose fumes are inhaled before drinking the brevage. Those herbs are very common in elven territories but can be difficult to obtain for humans according to where they live.
Prognosis
It is relatively easy to recover from the disease if it's treaded properly. It will lead to death only if the patient is already weak or has medical issues and doesn't take medication.
Sequela
If the illness is not treated properly, the patient might develop chronic breathing problems.
Prevention
To not catch this disease, someone has to make sure they stay warm enough, wash their hands regularly, not let anyone sick transmit their disease to them, take medecine with a tonic or strengthening effect, take vitamins, etc...
