Gigantis yggdrasil

Gigantis yggdrasil (Biollante) is an unnatural hybrid of a rose, Godzilla and Erika, the daughter of a Hyperfauna Harvest Ltd kaijuologist; Dr. Shiragami. Dr. Shiragami lost his daughter during the Osaka Incident, and attempted to immortalize her by creating a new species of rose (her favourite flower) through the use of genetic hybridization. The rose was spliced with the DNA of Godzilla, stolen from a Hyperfauna Harvest Storage Site, and Erika's DNA. The intended result was an immortal species of rose immune to any disease or environmental change. However the unstable and unpredictable nature of G-Cells resulted in the rose mutating out of control and quickly broke containment. The sapling Biollante proved to be at least semi-sentient and aware of what it needed to survive, using several roots and vines to position the full spectrum lights in the lab to help with its growth. Over the course of two days, Biollante grew large enough to break through the roof of Dr. Shiragami's house which was hidden away off-grid near Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. Appearing like a massive rose with a thick coiled stem, Biollante possesses teeth-like structures inside its bright red flower which acts like a mouth. The stem of Biollante has secondary leaves which have grown to resemble the dorsal plates of Godzilla and glow red when the plant feels threatened. Biollante produces ambient noise in the form of a low hum but has been reported to produce a sound which sounds like Godzilla's pain roar and a human female scream.

Biollante's root system is extremely complex and the creatures main way of interacting with the environment, most of the roots are standard roots, absorbing nutrients and water from the ground, however Biollante possesses two more variants of root, both are vine-like and are identified by the type of tip they have, the "Trap-jaw root" is a root that ends with a jaw-like structure vaguely resembling a venus flytrap, these roots are hollow to allow prey items to pass through to the reactor-like organ that acts like a heart, brain and pseudo-stomach located at the center of the root system. The "Spear root" is a sharpened version of the standard root, these are used to either entangle or impale opponents or prey. During its early days, Biollante's growth rate and adaptation curve slowed to a crawl after it breached the house it was contained in. But after a few months it quickly adapted to incorporate native plant life into its genome and began to spread, taking over the entire island's biosphere in a matter of days. The current size of Biollante is over 200 meters tall and has completely replaced the flora of the island with new species, as well as created several new species of fauna-like entities. Although initially aggressive during its original expansion and when Godzilla attacked, it was later discovered Biollante was merely acting in self-defense, Biollante is normally passive and only becomes hostile when it senses hostility from another lifeform or when it needs to hunt to fuel its reactor-like organ.
