Martian

Native to Mars, Martians were discovered during the first manned missions to Mars. Martians are typically shades of blue and pink, depending on their birth sex. They are a matriarchal society, and are governed by a queen although she does still have a cabinet of advisors under her. The Martians live underground typically and all communicate through telepathy, although there are still many Martians that speak English. Martians don't really trust humans that much, but there are certain factions that support humans through and through. Martian physiology is very similar to humans in many regards, and very different in others. Martians don't breathe Oxygen, as there isn't much to breathe in the Mars atmosphere. Instead their bodies have adapted to breathing carbon dioxide and exhaling oxygen. Also due to the extreme cold in the nighttime, their bodies have become almost immune to the coldness of Mars. However, this means that they are much more succeptible to high intesity heat, and fire. Because their bodies can regenerate lost cells, Martians live for much longer than humans do. Generally the average martian lives to be around 200-250 years old (in Martian Years).
