Muse-Speakers

The Muse-Speakers are the dictators of the will of Vesamir, the Celestial Dragon who rules over Adaetha. They listen to his words from within his home in the Far Peaks, whose location is unknown to all but the Muses themselves, and they proseltyze them throughout the nation's lands. It's said that the Muses can also spread Vesamir's miracles themselves, and they're often expert healers, alchemists, or warriors who can aid a local community in ways aside from their evangelism.
To become a Muse-Speaker is a life-long dedication. None have ever departed the Muse-Speakers ranks and lived. It's also quite difficult to become a Muse-Speaker; by tradition, the post is eligible only to the childless who are willing to undergo the process of barrening. Barrening requires the full removal of the reproductive organs of initiates: for men this involves a full castration, for women a complete removal of the uterus and ovaries.
