Rowracing

Description

Rowracing is found as a sport all around the world, but is especially participated in by Norskolt. There, all youth are encouraged to build their own rowboat and compete in a rowrace as a coming of age tradition. It often comes with important lessons in engineering, dealing with loss, and figuring out where to improve so that your boat doesn't sink the next time around.   Rowracing is, after all, a full-contact sport. As teams race down the river, they are allowed (and even encouraged) to ram into other boats, and to use any boat-attached, non-lethal weaponry to sink each other's ships. Taking another's ship, intentionally causing disproportionate harm, or using personal weaponry are worthy of disqualification in most cases. The first team to reach a designated end point on the river is considered the winners.
