The Althraxian Empire is beset by the dragonflights and sweeped into war. The war causes an immediate crisis as Kaszastrix struck down Emperor Petros II, who had no successors.
The dragons' terror will continue until Martin the Subjugator is granted Haldun-Kur, slaying many of the wyrms and claiming the mantle of Demagogue - ruling over all of the Althraxian Empire. Despite this, the Dragon Wars more or less continue in the form of much smaller skirmishes until the return of Kaszastrix and the second phase of the war following The Thousand Years
