Demphana

Physical Description

Demphana is an elderly and foreboding purple Dragonborn, pushing towards nearly 8 feet in height. He is heavily built and gruff in appearance. Lines lace his face, the signs of age as clear as the reflection on an undisturbed lake. His hand and leg wrappings are obscured for the most part by a cloak, giving him an aura of uncertainty about him. His clothes are inexpensive and practical; no signs of gold beyond a shiny belt buckle. On it resides an unfamiliar symbol to most. His red eyes seem to glow softly, his maw full of teeth ever-present as a result of enormous canines that stick out either side of his mouth. He lacks hair of any kind, and has a square-shaped scar over his right eye. Standing in his presence for a long period of time makes people feel tired for some unknown reason. His voice is throaty and as rough as a Belgian block road.

Personality

Despite the outward appearance akin to a bouncer at an inn, he is cordial to most and shows an appreciation for the arts, as well as for the value of hard work. While he will assist in tasks if given an opportunity, he sees little benefit in helping in minor situations such as to reach high ceilings, as he believes such actions inspire a reliance on him, where he believes he should not interfere with others learning valuable skills. He finds the concept of overworking and sleep deprivation not only degrading against the person, but also without reason in any situation. He is motivated to ensure their vineyard is managed to a high standard more-so than producing good wine. If his effect of tiredness manifests in the people around him for too long, Demphana is happy to assist. But if you make threats against his sons, or force someone to stay awake for extended periods of time...woe betide you.

Reputation

Demphana is not in any way known for being a fighter. He is known for 2 things: the wine that comes from the family business he runs, Dawn Vineyard, being known to cause vivid dreams and minor hallucinations, and the aforementioned feeling of tiredness that some get in his presence. Most commoners chalk the latter up to chance, coincidence, or a curse, and since Demphana treats them until they are feeling more alert, most do not even think twice about it.

Relationships

Demphana has 2 sons that work with him on the farm. His eldest son, Echiche (eh-chi-chee) is a human with dragon scales down half his body, and his youngest son Latomas (La-toe-mass). Both are still alive, but his relationship with the former is strained.
