Idriell
The ancient tablets of the elven ruins of Threl were the first known mention of Idriell. They called it the Land of First Man. According to the Slabs of Threl, as they’re known, the origin of man and god reside there, lost to time.
When the continent was rediscovered, zealots were quick to proclaim it Idriell, Land of the Gods. But when the first envoy returned with many strange casualties, many began to refer to it as the Land of Horrors. Men with eyes burned from their sockets, others with strange runes carved in their flesh. All signs pointing to something unnatural, and powerful.
After many lives were lost and the lands seemed less than habitable , a group of acolytes of Galloran were fleeing from certain death toward the coast for one last prayer for salvation to their patron, the monstrosities that followed were halted in their tracks by a smokey barrier of glyphs of a mysterious origin . This is where Vareholm has been erected, and has been standing for 3 consecutive months. Previous attempts at colonization have failed after just 72 hours.
Vareholm sits deep past the edge of civilization, it is the lone bastion of safety from the unforgiving wilderness. Although all that arrive to these lands are aware of its risks, many still come seeking to reap its rich rewards, be it material or sacred.
