Shard of El-ren

The Shard of El-ren, Aspect of Luneria.

A brilliantly crafted and powerful magical staff which sheds dim moonlight from within the crystals the staff is made out of. This staff was gifted to the adventurers of Vareholm as a boon for the trials ahead. The exact origins of the staff are currently unknown, but what is clear is that the Elves of Idriell crafted this staff long ago and it has not lost its shine and power. A testament to the Oshran Empire's artisans.

This frigid staff is one of many arcane foci delivered to and used by the Far Priests of the Oshran Empire. A wielder of one of these foci could use its power to enhance their own powers of divination, as they believed El-Ren could exert her own influence through them. It is said that the first Shard was delivered by El-Ren herself, though subsequent weapons and items were crafted by prestigious smiths of the day.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Shard of El-ren, Aspect of Luneria:
Requires attunement. Once attuned to a creature, it may not be attuned to any other creature until the previous attuned dies.

• +1 saves against divination spells.

• +1 spell save dc and spell attack.

• Allows the wielder to cast 1 divination spell per long rest that they know and can cast without expending a spell slot. This still requires any material components needed to cast the spell.

• Shed moonlight in a 15ft radius (constant).

• Minor spell storing (3rd level or lower.).

Significance

Significant Cultural Artifact. The exact significance and cultural origins are still very much a mystery.
