Mage War
The War of Magic
Many worlds have wars involving mages and spell casters and so on. Easthalen is no different. To date, there has only been one mage war and the world hopes there will never be another. Since the dawn of time, magic was low level, barely able to do anything more than the equivalent of a cantrip or harmless illusion and thus regarded as something that "only children and fools" would be interested in seriously. When Halen began his rise to god-hood and took on the aspect of magic, as his power grew, more magic flowed into the world. As more magic flowed, the potency of magic spells began to rise and eventually, what would be regarded as a tier one/level one spell on other worlds was first cast.
The Conflict
Prelude
The ascension of Halen and the rapid rise in the potency and flow of magic into the world was worrying enough but then rumours started to circulate about a potent ritual that would bind the fabric of reality to Halen and eventually allow him to challenge and absorb the other gods.
Deployment
As magic had been regarded as nothing more than "parlour tricks and illusions" up to this point, the first few skirmishes were a surprise to the regular combatants who had never seen combat orientated spells before.
