The Temple of Endless Hunger

The Temple of Endless Hunger is situated in the capitol city of Daegra, on the island of Boltusk. Of the three major temples in the Shards, this one is the only one located in the capitol, as it is easier for the orcs in the area to gather here this way. The others each have a great complex to their own, but Gnash seems to favor this local. The head Priest, Bomgran the Full, holds service here every tenday and serves the feast of the endless. Orcs come and eat their fill, only being allowed to leave the temple once they have eaten so much that they throw up.

Holy Day

The Feast is considered a holy day and all orcs are excused form work and responsibilities while their island has it's day. The warlord Gromsh provides free passage on his stone ships from the outer islands for this day and anyone targeted for missing work on this day is taken care of by the warlords guards personally. Slaves are not permitted to take part, even though in recent years some slaves have taken to worshiping Gnash. A petition is in the works to allow this, but the warlord hasn't said anything on this subject.

Purpose / Function

This great temple is for the ceremonial feasts of Gnash, God of Hunger.. Every tenday the orcs come to this temple to feast in reverance to their god and eat until they can no longer keep it down, only then are they allowed to leave.

Crowd Handling

Becuase of the populations on the three islands in the nation of Gromsh, the Temple has three separate services nowadays to handle the flood of orcs coming to celebrate their Gods tenents. The first tenday of the month is for the island of Boltusk, the second, is for Hokrusk, and the third is for Farthtusk. The last five days of the month is for restock and supplies, and for cleaning the temple of orc sick, of course handled by slaves.

Penance

If an orc misses the feast, wether due to sickness or crops, they are allowed to suffer a pencance in the eyes of their god. They usually eat at home until they are full then offer a prayer to the god afterwards, or if they have an abundance of food, they share with those that have less, ensuring that everyone eats that night that can't go.
