Pvt. Gregor ir'Zorik
Private Gregor ir'Zorik is a Karrnathi Army recruit receiving basic training at Fort Zombie at the same time as the protagonists.
He is the fifth-born son of Duke Albert ir'Zorik. He is expected to have a lifelong military career and become an officer. His enlistment was delayed after he unexpectedly awoke to magical powers. Gregor had difficulty controlling his magic and caused several incident in and around the castle. Duke Zorik hired Dev, a changeling wizard, to train Gregor in the use of his powers. Dev started only visiting once a week for lessons, but was asked to move into the castle full-time after Gregor set fire to his bed curtains while sleeping. Dev's son Nyx came to live in the castle with his father, and soon befriended Gregor. A few years later, Gregor's powers were deemed stable enough for him to finally enlist, despite the occasional wild surge. As Nyx was nearing the legal deadline for service, he was sent with Gregor to Fort Zombie to receive their basic training together.
