Elven

The language of the elves of Aerenal. Once a simplified form of giant, it has since taken on a life of its own far from its root language. The Tairnadal speak a slightly different dialect of the language, one they consider to be more ancient and in touch with their ancestors. The language, like most things elven, takes a lifetime to master, and any not native speaker is obvious to a true elf, with the half-elf version being considered essentially slang among the elves. The elves of the houses of shadow-Thuranni and Phiarlan-also use it in a distinctive style that makes them stand out to any Elf from Aerenal.
