The first born in orc culture is a significant thing. However, for Stral he was born with a club foot and this immediately limited his options and in the eyes of his people, his very potential.
Without ever saying it, it was obvious that his father was crushed that his firtst-born son was lame and this was likely the very beginning of his decline. Stral made it a point to try to overcome his limits and pushed himself beyond many limits to make sure he was as strong as possible. His upper body is the picture of the perfect orc male specimen and many orc males are quietly jealous of his impressive physique. He became a master of both bow and polearm, two weapons that were less dependant on his ability to move quickly and served with honor in the Aundarian army and later with the Eldeen Reaches rebels.
His mother's family had a long line of being Watchers and while Stral accepted that he would never be granted such an honor, he took it upon himself to make sure his younger brother did. He pushed Kruunel incredibly hard, significantly more than even his parents ever did. In fact, his harsh and demanding treatment of his younger brother was often a source of conflict between him and his parents. Partly, he wanted his brother to succeed and his family to have honor. But also, his own anger at the world for his handicap was taken out on his younger brother. When he was old enough to start speaking up for himself, they had numerous fights and in the end, a huge one that blew up and the brothers were more or less estranged for the past few years of Kruunel's life.
