The floating towers of Arcanix
The Floating Towers of Arcanix are a cluster of impressive structures located in the nation of Aundair and are the centerpiece of the Arcane Congress, a massive institution dedicated to the study and advancement of magic. The towers were originally built in a circle, with 13 in total, but one of the towers was destroyed during the Last War.
The Arcane Congress was founded with the goal of improving the lives of the people of Galifar, and it has played a vital role in the development of magic. Some of its greatest achievements include the creation of the prestidigitation and mending cantrips and the everbright lantern. During the Last War, the Arcane Congress was militarized and the Floating Towers of Arcanix were moved to their current location in order to secure territory claimed from Thrane.
In addition to serving as a center for research and teaching, the towers also function as an arcane citadel, with all schools of magic being studied at the Arcane Congress. Aundair is particularly renowned for its expertise in the fields of divination, abjuration, and conjuration. The Royal Eyes, Aundair's intelligence agency, frequently makes use of divination in its operations, and skilled diviners may be recruited by the agency.
Despite the loss of one of its towers and the militarization of the Arcane Congress, the Floating Towers of Arcanix remain a beacon of learning and magical advancement, drawing students and researchers from across the realm to study at their prestigious institution.
