Askelios

Askelios is a hamlet in northeastern Aundair and serves as the entrance to the Daskara Pass. The people of Askelios are proud of their Lhazaaran lineage, but inbreeding and harsh winters have dwindled their population. They have also suffered greatly from nightly goblin raids that originate from the pass that threaten to exterminate their village once and for all.
The small hamlet is mostly unremarkable, consisting of a series of ancient homes clustered around the Captain's Quarters, a hall that serves as the chambers for the local governor, Vulkan, and as a resting place for travelers bound for the Starpeaks Observatory. Additionally, to the west of the village, is Aureon's Stones- a series of monoliths that defy historical record. Dr. Juliona Walleau from the University of Wynarn is studying the pillars to try to discern their origin.
