Consequences
Consequences is the sister sword of Truth , the sword also known as Oathkeeper.
Consequences has had a colorful career. In the same battle where Truth was lost by the Dhakaani, Consequences was taken by a common human soldier as a souvenir. It remained in that soldier’s family until his grandson took up adventuring and carried the sword into the wilds. At that time, the family called the sword Grandfather and spoke to their grandfather’s memory in the sword. Grandfather served the adventurers in the family well for a few generations but was eventually lost in a battle with Daelkyr. The sword was lost in hands of those alien creatures for a few centuries, before being recovered in an Aboleth’s hoard by more adventurers.
The adventurer who recovered the sword and bore it away as a paladin of the Silver Flame, and named it Justice. It served many generations of paladins of the flame as Justice until it was lost at sea to pirates. Now it is a family heirloom of the house of Storm, and has been named Sleet.
So, each of the two blades has had many names. To make it even more confusing, the draconic prophecy appears to refer to them often as Eldest (truth) and Youngest (consequences). So, in a very real way, the passages of the prophecy that speak of the blades Eldest and Youngest could be talking about any other pair of blades made to be a matched set. And the determination that some lords of dust make that the two referred to are Truth and Consequences is an interpretation that not all agree with.
The Key passage in the prophecy -- as recorded and passed down over many centuries from where a dragon recorded it written on a cavern wall -- indicates that Eldest and Youngest will be reunited in battle at the foot of Icerazor while Storm and Griffon watch.
Galather worked hard to orchestrate this prophecy and free Levistus, which was a core part of the challenges that the Troublemakers faced in their time.
