The elves of House Phiarlan bear the Mark of Shadow. To the public, Phiarlan is a house of entertainment composed of bards, actors, artists, and acrobats; secretly, however, it is also a house of spies. Originally based in Cyre, the House was devastated on the Day of Mourning when every member within their headquarters was killed in the arcane eruption. They chose not to establish a new headquarters after that, preferring to operate out of The Five Demesnes (Motion in Breland, Memory in Aundair, both Music and Shape in Thrane, and Shadow, which was destroyed in the Great Freezing of Sharn). Tragically, the Matriarch, Elvinor Elorrenthi d'Phiarlan, made her residence in the Demesne of Shadow. After suffering these two great losses in the span of a decade, House Phiarlan has never been weaker than it is now.
Phiarlan operates two guilds:
The Entertainers and Artisans Guild (actors, musicians, dancers, acrobats, etc)
The Serpentine Table (the espionage arm of the House)
