Session 24: Hungover Kobolds
General Summary
Given the lack of options, the party decides to put the body of Tiranil Amastacia in a bag of holding. Unable to take the 2000lb wyvern with them as well, Ripper uses speak with plants to have the trees help dig a hole large enough to bury the body of Delphyne, with some success.
The trio then travel back to the tower, taking the time to put Tiranil's body onto a floating disk when they get close so as not to offend. Simon and Tarryn are happy to see them, and Simon is overjoyed to see how successful the trip was. As the others head inside, Simon Twoorb quietly asks Ripper to help him stash the body in his own bag of holding. They agree to keep it a secret from the others.
Afterward, the party gets back on the road. The road less traveled joins back up with the main road, and a little farther on the party arrives at the small town of Tilford. This town has grown around a junction between the main road the party is traveling on and a second road that runs into the mountains. The party decides to take a moment while to explore the town. This is what they find:
Toox visits the The Sleeping Goat Hostel. She meets Skaesgolr the Tired, a large monster-ish innkeeper who earns his name. She also meets Twirly, a young girl working at the hostel, and Claus, her animal companion, a dire tiger. The tiger eats people every so often. Then, just before leaving, she meets a jolly half-elf named Craig. Craig has a magical notepad with a variety of information on it. She learns not only of the tiger's eating habits, but also of a troll attacking groups coming back from the mountains. She also learns of Xor'chylic, and an underlying tension between the Citadel and Graywall.
Ripper goes looking for information on crime in the area. The Citadel has an outpost here, and there are wanted posters up for Feldspar Merrlin and a venom troll that has been terrorizing the caravans coming back from the mountains. The Citadel official offers a sizeable reward to have the troll and it's companions dealt with. Afterward, Ripper wanders the town and comes across two older gentlemen playing a game outside. One insists last night he saw an Orog being chased by over 100 kobolds and a shifter, who was in turn being chased by an elven woman in a big pink taffeta dress complete with a tall conical hat. Finally, he comes across a tiny run down museum dedicated to Ogrub the Ogre. According to the museum, 1500 years ago Ogrub was given a magical artifact that gave him a moral compass. Ogrub went on to save all of Tilford. He kept them all from drowning during a dam break, then he settled down as a farmer there for awhile. No one knows what happened to him after that. Ripper noted the traits that made Ogrub a hero- selflessness, bravery, and a willingness to risk his safety to help others.
Celosia visits two shops. One, Munsters R Us, is owned by a pug who buys monster parts. He is especially interested in a manticore stinger. The other, Arcadia Glass, has an impressive collection of glass figurines. Celosia offers to attempt to put Tyrfyr, the half-elven woman who owns the shop, in touch with more traders (presumably from House Orien)
The trio meet back up with Simon and Tarryn, who are enjoying a meal from a local shop. They decide to move on to Graywall. On their way out Ripper notices a dozen or so kobolds splayed out in some high tree branches. With Toox's help, Ripper discovers the kobolds are passed out drunk. Apparently the elf was upset about being left at the alter, and was trying to kill the orog. But they were successful in avoiding the danger, and so celebrated with what it turns out was not dwarven ale. The party leaves the extremely hungover kobolds to recover in the treetops.
The group arrives at the last Breland checkpoint just outside of Graywall. A group of Citadel guards want to inspect the Edhellen, but given the book and body the party would prefer to avoid this. Together they manage to concoct a story on the fly about a VIP in the back, and convince the guards they should not force their way in. The guards agree, and just ask if the party has seen an male orog, a female elf assassin, a group of around 100 kobolds of various colors, or Feldspar Merrlin. The group confirms they haven't seen any of them, and are set free.

Yes. Celosia is thinking she might get brownie points with House Orien by making this connection.
