Session 25: Enter Graywall
General Summary
The party enters the city of Graywall, and reports to Brenden, the representative from House Orien. Brenden explains the Edhellen will be guarded by House Deneith at the House Kundarak vault while the party is in Graywall. Tarryn Rowntree has a long list of paperwork to do, and leaves the party with Brenden to get started. They expect it will take several days before they can leave.
The party discovers a few nights ago there was an attack in Little Graywall that left at least a dozen dead. Tensions are high on both sides of the bridge. Xor'chylic is furious, and the Znir Pact are hunting.
The party next meets Sergeant Clint, the head of the House Deneith outpost. His arrogance and racism have sullied the House name in Graywall, leading to his troops being unable to make any progress on their investigation. Despite his lack of evidence, he is still absolutely certain Feldspar Merrlin is responsible and offers the party 800gp to bring him back dead or alive. When Toox asks what they should do if Feldspar is innocent, Sergeant Clint boasts he will pay 400gp if he is wrong. A House Kundarak official certifies this.
After he leaves, Luka Sharman, the head of House Tharashk in Graywall, slips back in. He is far form convinced Feldspar is responsible, but does believe he knows something. Finding Feldspar, however, has proven extremely difficult. He assigns Tark to assist the party in their efforts, and offers an additional 400gp to find the real culprits.
Following their meetings with the Houses, the party settles into their rooms at the Golden Dragon Inn, an outpost for House Ghallanda. They had already met the proprietor, Rossys Fernmouse, who welcomes them in her own warm, yet problematic, way.
Simon Twoorb is anxious to meet his contact, so the party crosses the bridge and heads to The Throne. The party heads to The Last Tower in The Throne, and they meet their contact,Hurda. Hurda explains they will be unable to travel on until the situation is at least somewhat resolved. As a part of this, and because they will be meeting with The Daughters of Sora Kell, they must first be interviewed by Xor'chylic. Hurda lets the party know exactly what questions will be asked. They are as follows:
Hurda will send word to The Golden Dragon Inn once an appointment with Xor'chylic has been set. She makes it plain she wants them to succeed in finding those responsible, but will be of limited assistance. She gives them to call upon the Znir Pact once, and encourages them to save it for when they are 100% certain they have found the terrorists.
The party then returns to the inn to drop off Simon, who has no desire to get involved in the investigation. The party takes 3 key steps to begin their investigation:
Tark casts Divination, and asks for the place where they can best get answers. He receives three images: A full moon directly overhead, a trash crate on its side, and a sign with a broken sword on it.
Celosia then uses the Mirror of the Past with a focus on the sign Tark saw. She gets these images: The sign attached to a red building, a tree, the sign again in the dark, and an ogre bumping his head on the sign at midday.
Toox recognizes a subtle signage proclaiming a local brother, the Veil, as a place for changelings. She visits on her own and, after a rough start, meets Dox. Dox runs the brothel, and aside from also believing Feldspar was not responsible, has heard rumors of a new group, The Purists. They think the Purists are responsible, but are at a loss as to how the group is getting across the lava bed.
After comparing notes, the party now believes this leads them to Bloodstone where they think they will be able to find an inn or tavern called The Broken Sword (or something similar). The plan is to look for an alley near the inn. Tonight also has a full moon that matches the one in Tark's vision, so they will plan to to Bloodstone very soon. It is around 4pm now.

- Do you know anything about the attack on Little Graywall?
- Do you intend any actions that will harm Droaam, Graywall, The Daughters of Sora Kell, or The Great Crag?
