Session 37: Deadly Ground, Part 1
General Summary
(This is the first of two sessions covering The Battle of the Crag)
The party is awoken telepathically around 5am by Xor'chylic. Demons and devils are attacking all across the mountain, and they are needed to help with defense. Inkwell leads the party to a small room holding around 50 civilians. The battle is long, but the party defends the room perfectly, with no casualties to anyone other than the attacking fiends.
After the last wave has been cleared, a Medusa arrives. She explains she can work the stone to seal the civilians in safely, but Inkwell lets them know they are needed elsewhere. Using their Crag Rings, the party moves to face the second half of the battle. Along the way Xor'chylic informs them one of them will need to take down a magical barrier. The process will require a high intelligence, and also a rather direct connection to Xor'chylic himself. Previous experience has demonstrated that can be a rather painful ordeal. After a brief discussion Celosia Senho volunteers to take this on.
