What Feldspar Did
A recounting of the actions of Feldspar Merrlin that led to the fight outside The Broken Sword during Session 26: Dammit Feldspar:
• Feldspar accepted a contract for 1000gp from a mystery group (the Purists) to grab a crate of Cannith goods bound for The Great Crag. He “robbed” the crate, but still left payment for the people he was robbing. He paid in counterfeit coins… and let slip they were being taken to Graywall.
• He did not sleep with any of the Purists. He thinks. On purpose, anyway.
• Feldspar did not look in the crate, or ask questions, but when the explosion went off he got pissed. He was already hunting them down when Xor got ahold of him. Xor set him free on the condition he find the Purists. (Xor likes Feldspar) Feldspar will get no help, however.
• The smugglers discovered the coin was bad and came back to Graywall looking for Feldspar. Feldspar told them he paid them with the coins he was paid (a lie), and to take it up with the Purists. They agreed to help him find the Purists instead of killing him. They are now demanding 1500gp.
• Feldspar did, in fact, sleep with a few of the smugglers. But it was spread out over time, so that makes it better.
• Feldspar ditched the smugglers and is now hiding as he hunts down the Purists, who he definitely hates, before Xor runs out of patience. Then he needs to leave before the smugglers catch up to him.
• Fortunately, Dox let him know the Purists were hunting him, because those same smugglers are looking for their coin. So Dox let slip to the Purists they could find him at the Broken Sword. Feldspar gave Xor a heads up. The gnolls are going to help clear the area, but if they have to help Feldspar resolve it then he’ll.. owe… Xor, and that is not a situation that ends well.
• SOOO… Feldspar is luring the Purists, who are leading the smugglers. To the Broken Sword where violence will commence. Feldspar figures he can turn the smugglers on the Purists, and then get lucky and live.
…and by “get lucky and live” he means Ninarin.
