They are responsible for creating the necklaces that people wear to keep their abilities manageable. It’s an exhausting job but it’s worth it in the end
Qualifications
If a person wants to get this job then they have to receive training for a few weeks before working on their own. The training consists of learning the basics of the job and making a few necklaces after the training to see what they learned. After they make a few successful ones they are officially out of the trainee rank.
Responsibilities
They hammer out the gemstone to the appropriate shapes which are a rectangle or a crescent. There are also custom shapes that need to be sent ahead of time. The next step is ingraining a material known as Powder into the core of the gem which helps neutralize the ability inside a person. It’s then handed over to another team to put the chain on. The process of making the gem shape and inserting the powder can take up to 8 hours depending on how fast a person can do it.
Cultural Significance
Skaule is the only known country that has refused to do the forging of the necklace because they think that it’s not important and people could control their abilities on their own but they ended up being proven wrong since it descended into chaos. The body can’t control the abilities since they can be tough on the mind especially during the first developmental cycle where the brain hasn’t fully formed yet. Children don’t exactly have the most self control. That’s why the necklace and the title is important.
