The Conflict

Prelude

Estelas was tired of being under Skaule’s rule for a long time but only acted during the rule of Empress Rose, the leader of Skaule at the time. There was evidence that they didn’t want to be part of the country like small little acts of violence towards Skaule’s soldiers that were stationed in their area but it was passed off as nothing.

The Engagement

The Empress of Skaule was assassinated by Estelas’s military because they wanted to gain independence from the country. The assassination was planned out days in advance and their goal was to kill the Empress and her guards without anyone noticing but they weren’t planning for a war that was going to weaken the entire continent.

After the Assassination

It took a few days before Skaule’s was informed about the assassination attempt. The military immediately knew it was Estelas and wanted to retaliate. They attacked the next day which Estelas was expecting and their army was around 10,000 while Skaule’s was around 20 to 30 thousand so they could easily lose but they managed to last for a long time. The battlefield stretched across multiple areas within the confines of Skaule and they also suffered a lot.
There’s not a lot of evidence about who joined the conflict first and why but a few countries such as Quch aided the war with soldiers and resources.

Aftermath

The continents was in disarray since some of the countries depended on Skaule for their resources and Skaule was a ruin and so was Estelas who gained independence. They had to rebuild a lot of their structures and laws to fit their own vision.
Skaule took a massive hit with a huge loss of civilians and lots of their cities destroyed. Along with everything else, they couldn’t find a new permanent Emperor for quite a long time and relied on the people higher up to rule for brief periods of time until they found a proper Emperor.
