Count Strahd Von Zarovich (a.k.a. The Devil)

The founder of Barovia , Strahd Von Zarovich, spitefully referred to as 'The Devil," ruled the valley and its people for a little over twenty years before being overthrown by Leo Dilisnya. Since that event nearly thirty years ago, the valley has been led by the Blood Church. Resentment towards the devil is as strong as ever, but for the most part people have forgotten about the past, instead focusing on the curse left behind; The Scourge.


While alive, Strahd was revered as a strong warrior and conqueror for the Von Zarovich family. It is said that Strahd never lost a battle, and was a fierce and ruthless tactician both on and off the battlefield. According to the Vicar, Strahd was arrogant, prideful and blinded by the research that ultimately consumed the devils life in the end.
