Cytonknic (Cy-ton-nic)

Cytonknics are a human sub category where normal humans undergo a mysterious process which alters the state of their mind to give them certain desirable traits. This is often performed against the person's will at a young age as many poor families will sell unwanted children to become cytonknic in exchange of money. The process is carried out by a mystical organisation called the The Order of Cyconkight who live outside of normal society. Many wealthy Lords purchase cytonknics as servents and workers due to the fact they can be 'programed' with certain loyalties.

Origins and The Order of Cyconkight

The Order of Cyconkight do not tell of the secrets of how the cytonknics are created but it is understood to be a brain altering process were certain neural pathways are opened or closed to create an intended effect. Some also believe that an element of witchcraft is used in the process too but there is no direct evidence for this. The Order mostly operates outside society in one of their many ancient temples scattered across Ecoth. It is unknown when cytonknics were first created but artifacts show them to have been around for hundreds of years at least.

Creation and Subjects

Most Cytonknics are created against their will. The Order of Cytonkight offers money in exchange for subjects so it is not uncommon for poor parents to sell their children to become Cytonknics if they can not afford to keep them. They hope in their new life the child would be brought by a wealthy lord and sereve him in luxury but many just end up as slaves or workers. The transformation process also removes all peievious memories from the subject meaning no cytonknics know a life before their transformation.

Market

Cytonknics are often sold off by the Order of Cytonkight to wealthy lords, kings and buisnesses to sereve them in various tasks. Since a cytonknic's brain can be altered, they cannot complain or protest to their job making them perfect for tasks that no one else wants to do. Many are used to carry out heavy physical labour such a mining or construction. Some cytonknics also have enhanced strength which makes them more usefull in this role. Others are used as servents in large households as they are much more obediant and loyal than a regular human servent. Cytonknics can also be used in battle. Whilst this was illigal for most of Ecoth's history, several underground clubs have been known to host cytonknic death duels where cytonknics are forced to kill each other with nothing but their bare fists. Cytonknics were also used illigaly for battle by Joedofe Hundra who turned the entire population of Vacana into them.

Skills and Abilities

Cytinknics can have multiple enhancements to improve performance at certain roles when compared to a normal human. Some important enhancements are:

• Certain loyalties to a given person.

• Not complaining or asking questions.

• Hightened intelligence.

• Heightened senses and reflexes.

• Enhanced strength (though there are legal limits).

• Removed from attachment and emotion.

These can be given to different cytonknics based on the buyer's preferences and other less significant alterations can also be made if specially requested.

Movements against the use of Cytonknics

No one has ever really opposed the use of cytonknics as they are genrally accepted as lesser beings by society. People see them as the exess peasents who would otherwise be clogging up society. However, many do oppose illigal acts such as cytonknic death duels and cases such as Hundra's use of a Cytonknic army but all other aspects of cytonknics are usually accepted. This is likely because their work has come to form the backbone of human society in Ecoth and without cytonknics, humans themselves would be performing the back breaking work that is given to stronger more obedient cytonknics. The upper class like them because they are loyal and cheep to maintain. The lower class likle them because they perform the jobs that no one else wants to do and they can sell their children to become one. The cytonknics have no means of protest as they are programmed with absolute loyalty. No one has any means for protest against the use of Cytonknoics, so they stuck around, and probably will continue to stick around in Ecoth, forevermore.

Cytonknics have little emotion as is seen as an undesirable and unecesary trait for their intended use.
