The Claw of Darkness

History

The claw of darkness is an ancient relic from the foreign island of Volavo. No one knows its true origins, but it is believed to have been made and bewitched by the native Volcanians. In the year 0 is was exported off island by merchents but later stolen by a mysterious entity known as The Shadow.

The Shadow used the claw to become a powerful mercinary working for The Second Dynasty and was tasked with hunting down and killing Sinric Leroy, who was running an opposition group to the Second Dynasty. The Shadow sucsesfully used the claw to anihilate Leroy's resistance. The Shadow used the claw to personally kill Leroy, liquidifying her insides then punturing her stomach with its blade.

The Shadow would then be tasked with hunting Joedofe Hundra who was on the run from the Second Dynasty but it disapeared and later the claw would later find its way into the hands of Joedofe Hundra, leading many to believe that he killed the dark emtity. Joedofe would hold onto the claw for two years, using it to rule the Vacanan Empire with an iron fist but the artiface dissapeared with his defeat and was never seen again.

Abilities

Those who witnessed its use, said it was a weapon that gave the wielder unbelievable powers, and near imortality; no sword or arrow could touch them. Some say the claw was on fire, burning any arow it came into contact with, whilst others claim it could shoot red lightning from its tips. One theme is common amongst witneses' accounts though, the claw's ability to shoot rapid blasts of energy instantaniously capeable of bringing down castle walls and shattering bones. This was used by Joedofe Hundra at the Battle of Phahlo to break into the city walls and inner keep.

Current Whereabouts and Mystery

With Joedofe's death the claw became lost to time, never seen again by the eyes of mortal power, though some say it has found its way into the hands of The Order of Cyconkight

The claw of darkness is a mysterious weapon and Ecothnic historians still don't really know what it was. Some say it was only of myth and never existed in the first place, whilst others debate on its abilities. One question lingers above all others though: if it is real, where is it now?
