Crossmaw League
The Crossmaw League are a group of merchants operating from Averum, Eastern Skortenia, the Posuidete Archipelago and the human coasts of Tila'thyu. The group are relatively unstructured; working mainly off spoken agreements, informal contracts and an honour based system.
Structure
The league lacks any type of leader and membership is also treated relatively informally. A trader can potentially be considered a part of the league once they make an agreement to perform trade with someone who is currently a member of the league. As a form of recognition, traders of the Crossmaw League will often have small symbols with the words 'CML' on their apparel or cargo.
Culture
Members of the league are typically reluctant to perform large trade deals with people not part of the league and have a preference for keeping most of their business within the league where possible. Most merchants of the Crossmaw League are resource traders or act as intermediaries between artisans and suppliers. It is extremely rare for a member of the Crossmaw League to act in a way harmful to its members, a desire normally driven by fear of being ousted or blacklisted as a dishonest trader.
Public Agenda
Ensure that members of the Crossmaw League have access to distant, though reliable contacts when processing or trading goods. In addition, the league attempts to foster strong relationships between merchants spread across the Great Maw and allow easier access to valuable foreign goods.
