Valkauna

the Grave Messenger, Mother of Devotion

Valkuana was the dwarven demigoddess of oaths, birth, aging and death. She was the older sister of daughter of Berronar Truesilver and sister of Mya. She was considered another of the many new dwarven gods who came about prior to the Thunder Blessing.

Valkaunas position in dwarven society has grown in importance, seeing a surge of worshipers after the Thunder Blessing. She helped to guide dwarves towards their rightful position in the afterlife and to bring new generations of dwarves into the world. Her main teaching is that the generation of new life is as important as the passing of it, and they should both be treated with the same level of respect. A controversial teaching in this regard was that dwarves should treat their fallen enemies in the same manner they did their own brethren.

Her role regarding oaths was mainly to assist dwarven paladins in correctly following the tenents of their oath.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Valkauna appeared as a dwarven woman of both moderate build and height, though standing over 5 foot, taller than most dwarves. She wore a long sleeveless dress that bunched around her feet.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Valkauna was rather limited in regards to friends among her fellow dwarves, preferring to remain impartial unless it concerned matters about the whole dwarven race. While the Grey Morndinsamman were not friendly towards Valkauna, they were the very least thankful for her presence.

The few deities she counted among her friends were gods of a similar bent, including Urogalan, Kelemvor and Labelas Enoreth.
