President (Laputan)
The President of Laputa isn't that dissimilar from their Chancellors. The way they are elected is similar as well, with a President being elected in the same way but within the capital of Castle, and judged not just by the public, but by a circle of influential inventors as well. They are also responsible for the broad stroke limitations within the nation, such as material usage, how much resources a single settlement can use, and other such bureaucratic responsibilities.
Qualifications
Every four years, the people of Castle will hold a contest to determine which of them achieved the highest growth or progress in the last four years. With regards to Presidents, there is also a council of elder scientists, one from each settlement, who will have great sway over the results, and whose sponsorship can make or break an election.
Requirements
A President must gain the popular vote of the people during the scientific fairs, where they present their progress and convince the populace, and especially the elders, why they should be trusted with the territory.
Duties
A president is responsible for the wellbeing of Laputan life as a whole. While their attention will be greatest on Castle, their capital, they must protect the civic wellbeing of each citizen and the land itself, lest it all fall to ruin.
