The Gothica Family
---HIDDEN KNOWLEDGE---
There is a tale of a once-great and powerful demon, not in might or malevolence, but powerful in deals and in fortunes. This Demon was known as Ars Gothica, and he reigned over all that was knowledge and all coveted things. But, when his power was feared and dishonored, 72 Legions of Hell came to strike him down and steal his power. Despite his best efforts, they did strike him down, and the greatest generals of those 72 Legions each came to feast upon his flesh and his power. But there was one last covenant to Ars Gothica's power, for those who ate of his flesh became a part of his own mind and machinations. Each of those legions came under command of whatever thought remained in Ars Gothica's astral form, and each did his bidding. In the eons past this event, there are still 72 people who bear the family name of Gothica, and it has transformed into less of a cabal of demons, and instead became one of the three greatest crime organizations in Edda. It's a rather open secret that the Gothica family gets up to some dastardly misdeeds and that they are fearfully powerful, but no one knows the depth of their abilities or origins, so many leave them alone if they know what's good for them.Structure
At the head of the Family are the Kings, followed by the Dukes, Princes, Marquises, Earls, Knight(s), and Presidents. Each of these have been decided since the beginning of the family, and are passed down through the Cursed Numbers each member bears.
Culture
The family has a longstanding set of rules and customs. First and foremost, all members are free to do as they wish, so long that it doesn't bring direct harm to another member of the family or their dealings. Secondly, all members must return home when ordered by a King, unless entirely indisposed. Thirdly, members are not to reveal the secret magic of the family under any circumstances. In the event that any of these rules are broken, said member is liable to be expelled from the family and/or executed, and have their Number passed down the line.
Assets
As a crime family with 72 leading members, with many operations and workers underneath them in various different capacities, it'd be easier to list the assets that The Gothica Family *doesn't* have access to.
