In the time before time. In the land with no rivers. There stood a tower. In the land before land. In the lake with no source. There stands a tower. In the tower with no doors. In the door with no threshold. There will stand a tower.
The Onyx is the stuff of legends, so much so I'm sure it was placed there to confuse us all. I will keep gathering tales though... maybe I'll be able to figure it out eventually.
Architecture
The Onyx is a miles high black stone monolith that extends above the clouds. It is square and gently tapers up to the top. It stands on a base a mile wide.
I once studied under the Onyx, trying to determine what secrets it held. Soon I realized there were more fun things to do than stare at a rock surrounded by sweaty arcanists and limited ferries to the city.
