Duke Sigmund Helmhad II is a second-born blooded noble. Sigmund is one of the Nobles of Kings Watch. His name around darker circles is "Twice Dead". Sigmund is a strong, loud Noble with militaristic attitude and a honor that he almost dares anyone else to impugn. Sigmund is a staunch loyalist to the Von Luen bloodline, and He owes his actual life and fortune to the Crowned Prince.

Sigmund stands 5'10'' and is every inch a warrior bred from birth. His steel gray eyes squint through a stoic visage, never smiling. His short cropped chestnut hair is long in the back, usually dual-braided.  Ser Lord is always seen with his silver longsword on his hip, and often wears partial armor, even in the Royal Court. Sigmund walks with Lord Jeggred, often and is seen giving council on military matters.  


The House of Helmhad was run by the Matriarch, His father died after his last sister was born. Duchess Maritza Gave birth to seven children.  Two boys and five girls, two of which were stillborn. Sigmund was born in an emergency delivery during a royal party. Sigmund was born in an antechamber of the Royal castle, with Prince Jeggred watching. Sigmund lived for three minutes then died. Prince Jeggred Leaned down and cast a spell, bringing the youth back to life. With The prince's blessing, Sigmund grew strong and fast, Taking schooling at the University for ambassadorship, and politics.


When Sigmund joined the army, he was given a charge of fifteen soldiers, who found bravely and stopped an invasion from Berserkers from the North Wildreach. Taking the frontline, Sigmund attacked three berserkers and fought them all until his men could back him up. He took a mortal stab wound to his chest and lung.  As he lay there dying, as his men tried with no  luck to stop his bleeding. A huge knight , in all black armor riding an actual nightmare appeared and rode down to Sigmund. He pointed a lance at the dying man and his men claim they heard him say " I've healed you once. Now is not when you die." Sigmund woke up in a hospital tent, attended by clerics and Lenders.  Twice the man known as Sigmund Helmhad has died, kissed the doorstep of death, and been pulled back to the mortal realm. After he returned home, he learned his mother died the night he was brought back to life a second time. He became the new Lord of House Helmhad. 


Sigmund "Twice Dead" Helmhad II is a General in the Royal Army, Master General of the Gothmyr Royal Academy and His family owns and runs the Helmhad Mines, north of the city. The day-to-day runing of the mines is helmed by his younger brother Sabastian. His eldest sister is an ambassador of Gothmyr in The Queen's Sun Court in Hepulchor. His middle two sisters run the Helmhad estate and his youngest sister is a member of the Graycloaks of Gothmyr.
