Last Stag Inn

The biggest tavern in Alnerwick, the Last Stag Inn is the hub of travel in the area. Every major caravan is on a first name basis with Mark, the friendly publican. The building itself is a two-story timber structure with a thatched roof, and the interior is decorated with rough-hewn wooden furniture, tapestries, and hunting trophies both from Mark's past as well as those collected by locals of Alnerwick. The atmosphere is jovial and boisterous, with patrons from all walks of life enjoying hearty meals, strong ale, and lively conversation.

The tavern, whilst owned by Mark, is now run mostly by Cleo Ross, who is known for her great hospitality and extensive knowledge of local lore and rumours. The menu at the Last Stag Inn has been tailored by Cleo, whilst consisting of traditional fare such as roasted game, hearty stews, and fresh bread, these are all of supreme quality. Paired with a selection of wines, spirits, and locally brewed ales the selection at the Last Stag Inn is lauded as the best in the region.

The inn is a popular gathering place for travellers, adventurers, merchants, and locals alike, with a large common room that can accommodate many guests. The upstairs rooms are clean and comfortable, with cosy beds and warm blankets for those who need a place to rest, whilst also having more rooms of equal measure at the rear of the premise for when the rooms in the main building are not sufficient. Overall, the Last Stag Inn is a welcoming and lively establishment that offers a taste of the local culture and a warm respite from the rigors of the road.
