The Council of Elesior
The Council of Elesior is an organization of powerful wizards that is based in the Kingdom of Dale. The council is made up of the most skilled and talented wizards in the land, who have dedicated their lives to the study of magic and the pursuit of knowledge.
The council is responsible for overseeing the use of magic in the kingdom and ensuring that it is used in a responsible and ethical manner. They also act as advisers to the king, providing guidance on matters that relate to magic or require a magical solution. They are however not beholden to the king, keeping a safe distance from the politics of the royal court and only answer calls of the king as they deem to. The council is respected and feared by many, as their power and influence is considerable.
The highest members of the council regularly convene to in what is known as the Council of Eight. Membership in the Council is by one of two methods, invitation by the 7 members of the council, or by the successful victory in a duel against one of the current members. Usually an invitation is extended only to those who have proven their worth by apprenticing under one of the members, demonstrating their expertise in the magical arts. In their meetings, the Council discuss important matters and to share their knowledge and insights with each other.
The council is housed in a grand tower that is situated in the heart of Dale. The tower is said to be one of the most magnificent structures in the land, with its walls adorned with intricate carvings and its chambers filled with ancient tomes and powerful artefacts. The tower is also said to be enchanted with powerful magic, which keeps it hidden from those who would seek to do the council harm.
