Black Chapel
In the southern mountains of Brom deep within a valley lies a testament or sanctuary of death and pain. The walls of the valley are covered in caves bearing the arcane symbols of death and disease. The valley itself has been turned into a mausoleum from some ancient time and sealed by forgotten magic rites. in the midst of all of this seemingly always in view is an imposing black and white marble monastery called the Black Chapel. The path to reach the Black Chapel is treacherous and littered with the shallow graves of the sick who couldn't reach the gates before whatever drove them there claimed them.
A place surrounded by legend and myth, it is said that the sick and infirm who receive the blessings of the monks that tend the grounds will be cured of any ailment. A sick person would lie on a white marble slab and the monks would force the ailment from the person into the stone staining it black, banishing whatever affliction from the person. When the marble is fully stained black it is replaced. The monks replace one of the white marble stones of the monastery with the newly blacked one and bring the clean one back into the infirmary. There are whispers that the diseases and maladies that are cast into the stone are simply held there, never cured just removed. If the stones or the Chapel itself were to be broken the blackness held by the stones would be released and spread all over Eglorix. The chapel is dedicated to Kershcel, God of the Mountain and as a God of oaths and changelessness, this idea is reinforced. The Black Chapel is said to date back to the second epoch or earlier with no record of what has been cast into the stones.
