Chronicler of Dust

"In the service of Dust you seldom chose your calling, it seems to choose you."
Finare Runelenrin

Time Must be recorded

One of the responsibilities levied upon the God of Time by the The Accords is to document the passing of time. To Dust this responsibility is the most serious thing he does. Without a proper chronicle of the time, who can know what truly happened? Dust quickly found that this task would have consumed all of his energies and decided that this burden would be shared with his followers. He passed a vision of great libraries to his followers and created special quills and tomes, to record events in the library and the realm of Dust himself.   Dust was quite pleased and gave some of his followers the title of Chronicler, more than a scribe, someone who would go and experience time firsthand. The Chronicler was someone with faith, an innate desire to wander, and of great perception. Among the faithful a handful arose and began their journeys, whether they were in tune with time as a gift of faith or touched by fate no one was certain. The arrival of a Chronicler was almost always met with trepidation. It was uncertain whether something good or terrible was going to happen and they were there to record it. The title allowed access to all but the most private of places in any kingdom or empire. Denying a Chronicler hospitality was akin to shunning your place in history.   It is said there is a Head Chronicler, who lives in the shadows and back offices of the great libraries. It is their responsibility to verify and finalize the history as it transpires. They are blessed by Dust with great foresight and bear the Arm of History, a great artifact that is said to be a physical manifestation of Dust's power.
