Clerical Order of Alaya
The Clerical Order of Alaya is a Meydran order with members all over Ekaia and its headquarters on the ancient ship officially called the CV Undulus, which docks at the Port of Balance on the island of Maristellis. As with many Meydran orders, members join as acolytes and may choose to train to be priests and later, perhaps, clerics. The leader of the order is the chief archcleric, known as the First Captain.
The Voyage of the CV Undulus
Affectionately called the Abiding Wave, a name which has its roots in the Age of the Meydra, by many Alayan followers, the Undulus is an enormous, ornate craft which serves as the mobile headquarters of the order. It is almost constantly on an unending voyage around the world which serves to connect all coastal temples of Alaya, discover new marvels on the sea, and keep the waters of the world safe by defeating pirates and aquatic aberrations. The Undulus docks at its home port approximately once every two years, when the voyage is complete, and stays for about a month. Each time, a new crew of 300 is chosen from the several thousand priests and clerics living on Maristellis. The crew slowly grows as the voyage goes on, as many of the ship's stops see them welcoming new clerics being sent to minister to the people of Maristellis.
