The Abyss
The Abyss is the outer plane of the chaotic evil alignment, the home of demons and believed to be the destination of the souls of those who die having forsaken Evendur. It is a vast and haphazard expanse of gruesome and terrifying environments, spiraling down in possibly infinite layers, each more terrifying than the last.
If there is anything resembling order in the Abyss, it is only because certain demons command such power that it is a matter of survival for lesser ones to follow them. They do not take interest in mortal affairs in the same way that devils do; the demon lords hold great enough power and deep enough pride that they do not reach out to other planes to seek out servants or aid, while lesser demons do not have the power to make contact in the first place. Only when presented with tantalizing enough offerings do they give any power in return.
Weather on the Abyss is constantly churning and violent, from quakes to floods to raging winds. There is no cycle of day and night, with lighting conditions turning on a dime, completely at random. Geological illusions are rampant and make travel extremely dangerous.
The plane is highly corruptive and quick to induce madness and evil. The only documented cases of adventurers returning alive from the Abyss still end gruesomely a short time after said return.
