Vorakk Spellmaster
Vorakk, often known as the Spellmaster by hobgoblins, was one of the earliest war mages, one of the first magic users to embark on interplanar travel and return to the Material Plane afterwards, and the inventor of the first prototype of an arcane methodology which eventually evolved into the Academy of Devastation.
Vorakk was born circa EC 35 and according to legend had an identical twin brother called Hakk. The story passed through countless generations of hobgoblins holds that the pair disappeared while on a quest attempting to forge alliances for their clan, whisked away by powerful druidic magics to the Beastlands. They spent months going on many adventures as they tried to find a way back home, and Vorakk collaborated with the mages among the Beastlands' natives, becoming inspired to use the energy that clings to a living creature who passes from one plane to another as a form of brutish yet brutal evocation. Hakk stayed behind to become a god, while Vorakk took this new knowledge back home to his clan and led them to victory over their many enemies.
