EooD Session 26: Nineveh and Other Creatures Found in the Underdark

Month 1, Week 2, Year 901
Day 2 in the Underdark
The Dark Souls awoke after their first night in the Underdark, the constant chill and darkness made a little less threatening by Seizer's magical tiny hut. From minute to minute and hour to hour, the obsidian rocks and narrow passageways of the Undedark changed little during the party's trek. A diversion for the party finally arrived when they heard sounds of fighting up ahead in the tunnels. Rushing forward, Seizer and the others saw a young half-elf woman fighting off a giant beast with thick spines running down its back. The monster emitted a piercing scream that nearly froze Jael in place, encouraging Seizer and the half-elf Nineveh to fill the tunnel with noises of their own as they cast 'Toll of the Dead' countless times. Poolp managed to choke the monster to death with his whip, shifting the focus of his rage over to the hook horrors that appeared not long after. With Jael and Skyler's help the monsters were defeated, allowing the party some time to speak with Nineveh. As Nineveh recounted some of her recent encounters in the Underdark, she was vague about her true purpose for being in such a dangerous environment. Although suspicious, the party allowed her to join their group as another ally against the hordes of dangers down in the Underdark. That afternoon the newly-expanded Dark Souls got attacked by a couple of brain-shaped monsters that tried to leech away at the group's intelligence, signs that illithids may be lurking nearby. That night Seizer took the first watch with Nineveh, pressing her for details on the nature of her quest. The half-elf relented and explained that she was here to deliver a knife to someone with 'mastery over life and death'. Seizer immediately informed Jael about this new intelligence, adding to the mystery surrounding Nineveh. Later that night Poolp discovered a baby quaggoth in one of his hunting traps. He adopted the small creature and named it Rrippp. Day 3 in the Underdark
The next morning nearly ended in disaster when a massive chasm opened in front of the party. Poolp managed to avoid falling in, and with Seizer's illuminating spells the Dark Souls discovered that the abyss stretched down for nearly 200ft. The shadowy outlines of statuesque forms in armor could be seen down below, but rather than stopping to investigate the party moved on to focus on its journey to Dromire. That afternoon the group entered into a larger cavern with walls that stretched out for hundreds of feet in either direction. A couple of cloakers swooped down from the vaulted ceiling above to trap the party, but they were eliminated with ease. The party decided to rest for the night not long after, when those on first watch noticed the figure of a dark elf man approaching from the shadows...
