GHG Session 58: A Long Time Coming
General Summary
Month 4, Week 1, Year 919
Safe from the chaos and danger of Naum Kulikov's lab, the Fortunate Five endured Prof. Klute's anger before teleporting back to Chusei University with Teherse'singh's magic. The expedition couldn't have continued with that gargantuan ooze running wild in the labs, but Klute couldn't be convinced and continued to harrass the party for their heroic actions. So the FF started spending more time with his students, learning about the group's fan club among the students (in addition to Soga's fan fiction). Back in Sanjuro Cityt the FF had its first in-person meeting with Kyoko Hara in weeks, who had hired a consultant to perform a strange ritual known as a 'survey' to gauge the group's popularity in town. Overall the party received good marks and most people no longer believed them to be oni, but on the individual level the numbers were less positive for members like Zan'kiri. The students liked them, the faculty didn't, and the city's nobility were suspicious of these powerful outsiders. Partly to help the group's numbers with the nobility (and partly to humor the whims of a young nobleman), Ouija Shicho was invited to join the group as they prepared for the international conference in three week's time. Kyoko hoped that Ouija would quickly lose interest in life as an adventurer as he had all his other hobbies over the years. The party started to settle back into their old returns back in the city, Ys hiding some of Soga's must lurid fan fiction within Klute's negative report of the FF's expedition. Xa'kara continued to tend to the city's poor, and Bubbles checked up on their old friend Bleu at the local temple of the Ageless One. Despite some scars and a paler appearance, Bleu had no memory of where he'd been for the last few weeks. High Priest Heiwa let him stay at the temple for the time being, and with Bubbles' help he started forming a shelter the city's homeless grung and lizardfolk. Zan'kiri tried attempted some community outreach of his own to improve his reputation, but few seemed interested at the prospect of skeletons taking their jobs. One day Windred met with Heiwa at the temple to get some assistance while she scried on Craghan. The scrying did not go well, Craghan obsessively showing Windred all the kalashtar he'd been working on to perfect his spell for severing her connection to her quori Cheyeashtai. Glimpsing parts of this encounter, Heiwa decided that the time had finally come for the FF to have a meeting with a very important individual. Although skeptical at first, when Heiwa revealed one of his biggest secrets (ie his romantic relationship with Kyoko) she started to trust him enough to let him set up this meeting. And the party found themselves in the tallest tower of the Holy City of Dhamma, the Campanel Desert spreading out for miles in every direction while a couple of couatl flew around the city. Sitting across the table from them were four of the most powerful religious figures in Pescaliat with their patron in the center: the Ageless One herself. Plenty of topics were discussed like the situation with the Gith and the party's tampering with the Veil, but as Priestess Alma Quinn continued to needle Zan'kiri it became clear that necromancy would be the greatest issue to resolve between the githyanki and the AO. Zan'kiri and the party might be granted some favors if they managed to defeat Gray Hat once and for all, but he'd first have to make amends for his killing of Jezebeth Rahal to get there. To that end, Lachesis and Allexander Hainaut appeared from one of the tower's portals to meet the subject of so many of their investigations.
