"We built this shop from the ground up! We only had to steal a couple items to get things started." -Toughnose, 900, 4th Cycle
Thrifty and inventive, goblins have established themselves in every corner of
Pescaliat. Derided as small-time crooks in some communities, goblins have found ways to use these stereotypes to their advantage in common business deals and territorial disputes alike. While hobgoblins are seen as tacticians and bugbears as fighters, goblins have much more versatility in how they move through the world.
Additional Information
- Goblins are found in every part of Pescaliat, most notably in the Southern Pescat region. Many goblins grow up in the city of Bognil in the tiefling nation of Rakka, fleeing south for better job opportunities and chances to improve their living conditions. A sizable population of goblins still live in the old city of Hedgpeth, a vestige of the Elflands Empire now under the control of the human nation of Sardivelia. While the city's goblinkin have found themselves in conflict with the Sardivelian authorities at times, goblins have found a way to navigate the human bureaucracy and establish several profitable businesses in downtown Hedgpeth.
- Goblins are more attuned with nature in the Northern Territories, preferring a nomadic life over the dense metropolises of Sanjuro City and Olenjii. These free-thinking goblins have remained neutral in the region's perennial wars, preferring lives of simplicity and comfort in places like the Koulan Forests
- Similarly, goblin tribes continue to exist in the forests of the human nation of Gameth. As the kingdom progresses into the industrial era, some goblins have felt the draw of modernity and abandoned their ancestral tribes to make it big in the cities of Gameria and Ravi
