Lakefinder Session 9: Slaughter is the Best Medicine
General Summary
Month 10, Week 1, Year 935
With Karly recuperating from the desert heat, the rest of the party descended into the sewers to investigate the so-called angel. Some of the villagers caused a ruckus when they saw the party desecrating the shrine of their celestial guardian, but Jheri's dragonborn guards kept the crowds at bay during the group's dungeon delving. The sewer was filled with a stream of bloody red slurry, the stonework dating back to the ancient magocracy of Old Myltev. A couple of laughing plants caught the party by surprise, but they pressed on with few distractions. They finally found themselves in a large cistern, face-to-face with a terrible-looking clown wielding a sharp knife. A half-elf was chained up against the wall where a large mural was on display. The fight turned bloody and brutal, blows exchanged in close quarters while chattering bats flew around the room. Leena performed some invasive surgery to keep Kai on his feet, and with Eraji on the offensive the clown was eventually destroyed. The yuan-ti took the clown's red nose to commemorate the fight. They rescued the chained-up halfling and dragged him back up to the surface, but despite the party's interrogations he stayed cagey about his reasons for delving into the sewers. The group decided that Karly could break the news to the villagers about their angel really being a bloodthirsty clown in disguise, and later that night Jaariko visited the barracks to research the town's records. With two different aberrant creatures terrorizing Qazvin in the past few montsh, was there something attracting them to the region?
