Lead War

The Lead War was a siege waged in the early 930's by Gameth and Myltev against the Lead Kings pirate enclave in Gordigrad. The siege was the final step in a decades-long effort by King Nikolaj Baratov to unify the islands of Myltev under a single monarch, putting an end to an era of piracy that had defined Myltev for centuries.    The siege was long and costly for Gameth, especially as supply chain issues in Gameria plagued the final stages of the siege. But the siege's end was an important victory for Queen Stella's new reign as she sought to turn Gameth into a global power on the international stage.    Piracy had long plagued the supply routes of the Karaga Sea and Largas Ocean for decades, but the defeat of the Lead Kings along with Sardivelia's anti-piracy campaign of the 920's brought an end to the golden age of piracy. Some pirates tried fleeing to the dangerous continent of Rana to eke out a living far from Pescaliat's oppressive kingdoms, and rumors persist about the Lead Kings' former leader Zmei. He disappeared from Gordigrad in the last days of the war, and some hope that he will one day reappear to amass a new army of pirates and reclaim the seas.
