Episode 50

General Summary

• Filth continues to lead the party through the tunnels, encountering a couple of mushroom-tripping goblins along the way, who are quickly incinerated
• The party enter the goblin nests, a section of the complex where the Broodmothers are kept along with other non-guard goblins
• Sneaking past a few more guards, the party find a group of older female goblins - most of which seem somewhat detached from reality. Leah gives them some food as they pass the disturbed creatures. Filth comments on how strange it is for them to still be here, considering these goblins are passed their "usefulness"
• After distracting/defeating a few more guards, the party continue heading towards where Commander Devianne is being held
• They eventually encounter a magically sealed door, which has no visible lock and shocks anyone who touches it. Power cables run out of the wall above the door, which Filth explains are used to power much of the facility
• With no obvious way of opening the door, Eva uses the Mirror of the Past to try and figure out how it works
• They witness a strange creature wearing a key around his neck, instructing goblins in some work.
• Filth identifies the man as "The Biomancer", a man who has altered his own form in several ways and is responsible for much of the human-altering experiments
• Filth recalls that The Architect also had such a key, and that the party could either seek out the Biomancer, or head to The Architect's personal quarters to try and find said key
• The party opt to go to the The Architect's quarters, and Leah (in the form of a Giant Badger) tunnels through a wall to create a shortcut
• Passing through another locked door and avoiding being turned into mice, the party find a large chamber filled with strange glass tubes
• Each tube is filled with a purple liquid, but are otherwise empty - save for a handful which contain various creatures inside. These creatures that remain seem to be dead however
• The group head towards The Architect's chambers, disabling a magic alarm as they enter a rather nicely furnished couple of rooms. In the bedroom, they find another glass tube - this one is completely empty however. Also in the room is a picture of a man and a woman, a painting of the inner and outer planes and some other mundane furniture
• The planar painting has been coloured in with purple ink, and the word 'Quintessence' written upon it
• Behind this painting is a safe, no key is found within, but a crystal ball sits inside with strange purple swirls inside
• As Leah touches the orb, a memory floods her senses. She witnesses a younger version of The Architect meeting a silver-haired woman on the beech. The woman refers to herself as 'Sarah'
• Further memories show the pair talking about magic and 'other worlds', and supposedly the young man, called Maevolio, falling in love.  
• Atlas discovers a slot around the back of the glass tube, where the orb neatly fits
• Veda, meanwhile, heads towards the area that Nephilim experiments took place
• In this section, she find a couple of smashed tubes and a 3rd empty tube. The 4th however, contains a creature. Approaching the tube, Veda looks inside to see a male being. The creature is stunning, and notably has two wings - one feathered and one bat-like.
• Unlike the other creatures here, this one seems to still be alive. It opens its eyes at Veda's presence, but doesn't seem to be able to focus on her
• Veda begins sketching the creature and taking notes.
• The rest of the party arrive, and decide what to do about this being - this Nephilim
• Filth examines the creature, and determines that this is likely a natural-born Nephilim. Judging by its appearance, she believes it to be the offspring of an angel and a succubus - just like in the tales.
• Eva places her hand on the glass, and the creature speaks into her mind - in two voices. The being doesn't seem to be fully aware of its surroundings or situation.
• The party eventually decide to free the creature, despite the concerns that are raised. As Filth opens the tube, the being steps out...
